Musky Mania: Squirrely Li'l Ernie
The High-Vibration Deep Diver with a Tail
The Squirrely Li'l Ernie takes the legendary deep-diving performance of the standard Li'l Ernie and adds a seductive, replaceable soft plastic tail. This hybrid design combines a tight, rhythmic shimmy with the flowing, erratic motion of a grub tail, creating a multi-sensory presentation that muskies and trophy pike find impossible to ignore.
Versatile Depth and Aggressive Action
Designed to reach the depths where big predators often lurk, the Squirrely Li'l Ernie is a tool for both casting and trolling:
-
Deep Diving Performance: This lure can easily reach depths of 15 to 20 feet when trolled, making it ideal for deep weed edges, rocky breaks, and open-water suspension.
-
Tough Construction: Molded from high-impact plastic with a reinforced diving lip, it is built to deflect off bottom structure and survive the crushing jaw pressure of a 50-inch musky.
-
The "Squirrely" Factor: The soft tail adds a secondary vibration and a visual "flicker" that persists even during pauses or at very slow speeds, often triggering strikes from "lazy" followers.
Engineered for Efficiency
-
Internal Rattles: Equipped with a loud, high-pitched rattle chamber to call fish in from a distance and help them track the lure in stained or deep water.
-
Replaceable Tail: The tail is easily replaceable, allowing you to swap colors or refresh the lure after it has been damaged by aggressive strikes.
-
Premium Hooks: Fitted with ultra-sharp, heavy-duty treble hooks to ensure maximum hooking and landing percentages.

Pro Tactic: The "Bottom Bounce" Rip
When fishing over deep rocky points or humps, troll or crank the Squirrely Li'l Ernie until you feel the lip making contact with the bottom. Once you feel contact, give the rod a sharp "rip" forward to move the lure 2–3 feet, then immediately give it slack. The lure will dart forward aggressively while the tail kicks wildly, then it will pause and begin to float up—this is almost always when the strike occurs.
Combine the vibration of a crankbait with the look of a soft plastic. Add the Musky Mania Squirrely Li'l Ernie to your deep-water arsenal today.
