Off Shore Tackle OR19 Heavy Tension Planer Board Release

Maximum Holding Power for Heavy-Duty Deep Trolling

Secure your lines with confidence using the Off Shore Tackle OR19 Planer Board Release. Known across the open water for its unmatched durability and strong grip, this half-size, heavy-tension release clip is engineered to eliminate false releases when trolling heavy lures, snap weights, or deep-diving crankbaits.

Featuring a high-visibility orange body for easy identification on the water, the OR19 comes fully equipped with a split ring and quick clip to easily mount directly onto your planer boards or downrigger setups. Designed with adjustable tension control and a central retaining pin, it grips monofilament, lead core, or braided lines firmly without slipping—keeping your gear fishing efficiently through chop and high trolling speeds.

Key Features

  • Heavy Tension Grip: High-spring tension prevents accidental releases caused by heavy lure drag, weed debris, or turbulent water.

  • Integrated Pin System: Built-in retention pin prevents the board from sliding off or getting lost if the line releases from the pads.

  • Adjustable Spring Load: Easily slide the tension spring forward or backward along the clip to customize the holding power for your specific line type and fishing conditions.

  • High-Visibility Orange: Bright finish makes it effortless to spot and handle, even during low-light dawn and dusk trolling passes.

  • Complete Hardware Kit: Comes pre-rigged with a split ring and quick clip for fast, tool-free installation on planer board arms.

Pro Tip

Adjusting Line Tension for Braid vs. Mono: To get the perfect release every time, adjust the internal spring position based on your main line. For smooth monofilament or fluorocarbon, push the spring closer to the pads for maximum spring pressure. When running slippery braided lines or lead core, wrap your line once around the internal retention pin inside the rubber pads before closing the clip—this locks the line in place and prevents slippage under extreme drag.
