Pro Tip: Master the "Slack-Line" Strike

When jigging the Chubby Darter, use a sharp upward snap followed by a controlled drop. Because the lure "walks" horizontally on the fall, fish will often inhale it while the line is slack. Watch your line closely—if it stops or twitches before the lure reaches its depth, set the hook immediately!
