Instructions for Use

Installing a Smart Stop is incredibly fast and requires no threading or line cutting:

1. Insert Line: Place your fishing line into the center groove of an open Smart Stop (while it is still on the holder wheel or held in your hand).

2. Snap Shut: Use your fingers or a pair of needle-nose pliers to snap the stop closed over the line.

3. Adjust: Slide the stop to your desired depth. The hard plastic teeth provide a "firm grip" that stays put until you decide to move it.

Pro Tip: The Needle-Nose Snap

While these can be snapped shut with your fingers, using a small pair of needle-nose pliers ensures a perfectly flush closure every time. A flush snap is key for long-distance casting—it ensures the stop is as streamlined as possible, allowing it to whistle through your rod guides with zero friction, which means more distance and fewer tangles.
