The full-length segmented flighting is molded from a proprietary synthetic resin that sheds weight rapidly while naturally resisting thick slush and ice buildup. Underneath, a heavy-duty steel hex core is paired with an engineered composite carriage to withstand sudden torque spikes without flexing. The Power Point centering tip holds the bit steady on bare, glare ice to eliminate walking, while dual curved stainless steel Lazer™ blades cut clean, uniform holes with minimal battery draw.

Pro Tip: Always switch your cordless drill to Speed 1 (Low Speed / High Torque) and make sure the selector collar is locked into drill mode rather than hammer or clutch mode. Running in high gear draws excess amperage from your battery in cold weather, creates extra motor heat, and increases the chance of catching when breaking through the bottom of the ice sheet. Store spare lithium batteries in an inner jacket pocket or insulated soft cooler until ready to use.
