• Texas Rig: The primary way to fish this bait. Use a 4/0 flipping hook and a pegged tungsten weight. It is designed to be "punched" through thick surface vegetation.

• Jig Trailer: It is arguably one of the best trailers for a flipping jig. The claws provide a "swimming" action that triggers strikes even when the jig is simply being dragged.

• Ned Rig (Modified): You can trim the head off a Christie Craw to create a high-action finesse craw for pressured bass on a mushroom head.

The Secret: When rigging the Christie Craw on a Texas rig, instead of using a standard bullet weight, use a teardrop-shaped weight and do not peg it. When you flip the bait into a hole in the weeds, the heavy weight will pull the line through first, and the flat, aerodynamic body of the Christie Craw will glide horizontally away from the entry hole.
